SANDY BERNARD. Trained as an educator, Sandy enjoyed many years as a free-lance landscape designer and later served as invited Interim Executive Director of Camp Fire, Inc. In 1990 she was selected as the first Executive Director of the Rochester Women’s Network. and remained in that position until her election as national President of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) in 1997. She served as AAUW’s Middle Atlantic Regional Director, Membership Vice President, Executive Vice President. Sandy was named the US Small Business Administration’s Women in Business advocate of the Year, Region II. Sandy has chaired major fundraisers for Susan B. Anthony House, Planned Parenthood, the Rochester Women’s Network, and the 2000 induction weekend events for the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
